    The Orville

The 'The Orville' is Seth McFerrin's sci-fi series in the spirit of classic Star Trek, like TOS and TNG. Sometimes its comical, sometimes its bold in terms of its themes. The series is already through one season consisting of twelve episodes, successful enough to get a second season, the first episode of which is airing on the 31st of December! (Second season trailer, might contain mild spoilers!) Star Trek: Discovery

I am still watching STD, its ridiculous! The more I watch the more I laugh. Overdramatized, ridiculous, twist in every episode. The story is insane! I hate most of the characters, the only one I like is the red hair ensign Tilly. Everybody is suffering and crying all the time, every major character has its own agenda, its basically like Game Of Thrones with bad writing, acting, and characters. Do not watch it if you can only do it for money, doesn't worth a penny, but I do recommend Star Trek fans to watch it, just to experience the insanity. My favourite episode without spoilers is when dark matter has borderline magical attributes... If you want something that is more similar to classic Star Trek, watch The Orville. Its somewhat scuffed, but "it's heart is at the right place".
  3. I like both Star Wars and Star Trek, although I'm a STar Trek-fan. The number one difference between the two is that Star Wars is space fantasy, while star Trek is science fiction. Technology in Star Wars is handled in a very mundane way, with a few words, it has no focus, unlike in Star Trek. As Arthur C. Clarke said once "...science fiction is something that could happen - but usually you wouldn't want it to. Fantasy is something that couldn't happen - though often you only wish that it could." My biggest problem with Star Wars - other than the fact that Disney destroyed the franchise - is that until the Disney movies, only prequels were made, no proper material about the actual present of the SW universe.

    Sci fi books

If you like hard sci-fi, read some books from Stephen Baxters Xeelee Sequence guys! Flux is not that good in my opinion, but Raft, Vacuum Diagrams, and Timelike Infinity is awesome!

    Doctor Who

Dear God! I just found this, sorry to anyone who thinks this is old news! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxB1gB6K-2A Reminds me of the time I learned Tate will be the new companion. To be honest, I did not like the idea at all, but I was wrong, she was brilliant playing Donna, she is one of my favourite New Doctor Who companion. BTW guy I hope you know that Twitch is streaming the classic Doctor Who episodes from time to time, like today (08/01/2019) for example! Watch and co-stream them on !

    Happy New Year!

2018 was not a very good year. Stephen Hawking, Stan Lee, and Burt Reynolds died (amongst other people). 2018 was a fucking dogshit year in terms of AAA-gaming. Fartshite came and became the #1 mainstream game, played by children mostly. After Blizzard legitimized loot boxes through Overwatch last year, AAA-pulishers introduced them in their games. The Battlefield V PC-bullshit arrived, than the Bethesda Fallout 76 scandal, than the Atlas one. Thankfully there were good games like God Of War, Spider Man, Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Red dead Redemption 2. I honestly hope 2019 will be better, now that governments started to look into the whole 'get children addicted to gambling' thing, even the UK government started to look into it! CP2077 is coming from CD Projekt RED, although Cyberpunk probably won't be done this year (2019), and Outer Worlds from the creators of Fallout and Fallout 2, so we probably going to have a proper Fallout game again, instead of that dogshit with the Creation Engine, with physics tied to the framerate. Happy New Year everyone!
  8. The Expanse is a sci-fi series, looks like Battlestar Galactica Lite. A large part of the first season plays on a space station, feels very "close-quarters", very cyberpunk, than the story starts to unfold. In my opinion the writing is a bit erratic, some twists and turns feel very cliché, very forced, very self-serving, some of the characters are not very well written, Amos is my favourite character. Its interesting, I am still watching it, so I guess its not all bad. I recommend everyone who haven't heard of it yet to check it out!

    Stargate Origins

Oh my god! Prequel, AND young adult series, the two things giving me rashes! Watching the trailer I was waiting for (young) Indiana Jones to show up! I saw the original Stargate movie in the cinema back than, it reminds me of that, and that's nice, than its starting to remind me of "The Mummy" movies...

    New Sabrina

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybKUX6thF8Q Guys do you remember the TV-series Sabrina The Teenage Witch? It was a cute and silly little comedy series back i the nineties. I remember watching it a lot, and loving it. It was a nice, light little series. Well, the new one has nothing to do with it. It's basically like every young adult fantasy series since Buffy. The original one, not Riverdale. Am I getting too old? Why do they have to remake everything into retarded young adult/teenage drama bullshit?

    What's a good WWII sim?

If you want actual squads and team-work, forget pew-pew simulators (TM by WorthABuy) like COD or Battlefield! There is a game that looks quite good if you actually like squad-based WWII FPS games with teamwork, its called "Squad". Its on Steam, its early access. I have not played with it, I don't like multi-player FPS games, but I appreciate and respect good quality games.

    New Sabrina

LUL No, its not really the new Sabrina's fault, I tend to make rush decisions unfortunately. I don't actually have problems with Netflix, well, I hate that they take down stuff after a time. Let's just say when they took down the Tinker Bell animated films, that was not a great day for me! I'm planning to re-sub sometimes, it's just that I don't have much time to watch Netflix right now, I just got a new job, one that I actually like, I try to concentrate to make it last.
  14. I don't know how much you know about this, I haven't even heard about it either until it was shut down (although I'm not interested in VR), but there was a fan-made VR-game/experience called Stage 9. This thing recreated the interior of Enterprise-D, it was similar in look to the VR game "Star Trek: Bridge Commander", and it got Cease and Desisted recently by CBS. Here is a short video about the game and the C&D from Nerd3.
  15. Hi, I'm a Hungarian guy living in England for the last five years. People who know me can probably that I'm not an easy-going guy, I get a bit too enthusiastic about certain things, but I believe I have a good heart, I just don't express myself the proper way! I like sci-fi, Doctor Who, video games, and I'm getting into an age when I start to feel that things were better 'in the old days'. I'm closer to forty than thirty. My forum nickname comes partly from my teenage, edgy period, partly from being bullied because my weirdness and my unusual voice from high school.

That too, I'm just not much of a typical tourist, but I would like to see Highlander-land too if I can! 🙂

    New Sabrina

Okay, so what happened is I watched literally the first scene, realized that in tone the series has nothing to do with the old Sabrina series, stopped watching it right away, and cancelled my Netflix subscription, also right away! I am not exaggerating, that is exactly what happened! So I could not tell you whether the series goes anywhere or not.

    New Sabrina

Okay, sorry, I'm doing this all the time, let me explain myself! The original Sabrina-series was a comedy series targeting mostly teenagers. It's not bad, it's just that it feels to me like Riverdale, or True Blood, or the other young adult horror/drama series they make these days. I was disappointed because I loved the original Sabina, so much so that I stopped watching it after seeing the first scene of the pilot. I haven't seen Riverdale, but you see one of these young adult series, you see them all. It felt like Smallville with horror. I don't want to ruin anybidy's fun, I would recommend you to watch the pilot and than decide!

The move was basically my last option, I could not get a proper job in my country. I only regret not doing it a few years earlier! I am proud to say that I am a tax-payer since two weeks after I arrived, I'm not here to live on benefits! I love fish and chips, that's the best food ever, the pizza is a bit expensive, but I order a lot through their app from Domino's. I want to go to Stonehenge once in my life, otherwise I'm not really a tourist kind of guy.

    Game of the Moment?

I am absolutely crazy about Warframe. I put 1000+ hours into it. There is a new expansion coming in November, you will be able to roam freely in another large open area (the first and only one currently is The Plains Of Eidolon on Earth), they will introduce a hoverboard. The game is free, you can grind out almost everything you are able to get in the game, there are even alerts with otherwise purchasable skins as rewards. The main story and the lore is fascinating in my opinion. Beautiful environments, greatly optimized, with interesting mechanics. Check it out guys!

    Device of Choice?

I bought a quite powerful gaming PC from pcspecialist a few years ago, I updated some stuff in it, it's still quite good. I bought a PS4 for FFXV and Persona5, a Vita for Shin Megami Tensei Persona 4 The Golden (yes I wrote the full name, because its that great, Chie4ever!), and recently a 2DSXL for Fantasy Life, so I guess I'm still pretty much a gamer, now that I have the money to be able! I mostly play Warframe these days though, check it out guys, it's a great game, and its free! You play as a space ninja!

    Doctor Who

Yeah, the three companions remind me of the classic series, and I love that. And the fact that the new Doctor is a woman!

Yeah, sorry about the inflammatory tone by the way! Anyway, I would love to watch new, proper ST again, I'm afraid they cancel Orville!

    New Series Announced

I thought I saw a message from you saying that you close down the forum. Do we know which universe is it going to happen? The original, or the pandering to PC-sheep universe?
