NiteSciFi was established in 2004 as a site for fans to share and enjoy all things Sci-Fi. Originally called "NiteShdw", the website quickly grew to almost 50,000 members.

After being closed down in 2006 briefly, the website relaunched under the NiteSciFi name, and slowly rebuilt itself over the years. The forums closed down again in 2015 due to hosting trouble, but are now open again here for users old and new to reconnect.

Here you can discuss all things Sci-Fi (and non-Sci-Fi alike!).

I was going to write something really academic... "each regen brings a new Doctor. And each Doctor needs to..."
and about how "...the new casting is bringing 'Geek Closeted Chauvinists' out of their wardrobes..."

But instead I bring you:

The Doctor Who Helpline

I'll be honest, since Matt Smith, I've struggled to keep interest with Doctor Who...
I pushed through, but I haven't watched the last Capaldi season.

Maybe this will reignite by enthusiasm.... but I doubt it.

I have never liked Smith, I think he was the worst of the new Doctors. I love how the internet lost it's shit when it turned out that the new Doctor is a woman. The situation reminds me of the scene in Wonder Woman, when Diana enters the parliament.
White supremacist men couldn't handle it, but this was predictable.
With Smith the creators started to open up the series for a wider audience, to be able to sell it in the US. Smith's Doctor was a retarded hipster, they put that babe in, it felt terrible. I think Capaldi would have been a great Doctor, but he got terrible stories to work with.
Sci-fi is gradually being turned into shit, Star Trek is another good example.
The reason they made the new Doctor a woman might be wrong, but I like the idea.
Love the video though.
What can change the nature of a man?

"And yet... We need to remember that we are grown-ups playing in a child's field..."

It's a strange thing to realise that everything I loathe about the Doctor is because of the Demographic it is aimed at.

I have learned, over time, to forgive Doctor Who's childish narrative and hope that the more classical Doctor would return. Capaldi was an excellent attempt. And now the Whoniverse has a chance to rewrite and revive itself.
