New Trek - Based on the trailer, it looks like it could go either way. What are your thoughts?

Hi Hayden!

I'm looking forward to it, but I'm also not going to get my hopes up too much.

When the new style of Start trek movies started coming out, they were very different to any of the Trek we've had before. Judging by the trailer I'd say the series will be a bit more familiar, but definitely not like the old series.

But then I suppose Enterprise (NX) seemed very different to Voyager/DS9 back when it first came out...

Why the fuck are they going back again!?
I will probably watch it, but these stupid prequel-bullshit makes my blood boil! I swear to god it's the new Star Wars now! It makes no sense!
I love the fact that the captain is female. I wish the music would be orchestral, rather than this pop-rubbish.
Also is it just me, or the technology of the Federation gets better and better the further we go back? There must be a serious violation of the Temporal Prime Directive at work! Someone notify Admiral Janeway at once!
It's on Netflix, so it should not be taken that seriously!

A good point: they go further back in time with each new Star Trek release, and yet the technology gets more advanced. :P
